We are Grateful for Your Support

Greensburg Bed & Biscuit Angel Fund

On any given day, we may have pets at the kennel who are not regular paying customers. While we are not a rescue and do not seek out these pets, we do our very best to assist our community and their pets in need.

Your Contributions Make a Difference

Supporting Pets in need

Angel Fund donations offset our costs of caring for:

  • Pets owned by rescue groups who get discounted boarding rates.
  • Displaced pets owned by individuals escaping domestic violence.
  • Long-term fosters.
  • Pets abandoned to us.
  • Pets whose owners were customers but their owners have passed away.

Because we are a business, and not a non-profit rescue, donations to our Angel Fund are not tax-deductible. We sincerely appreciate your support.

adoptable journey

Journey is one of our long term fosters. She came to us through a rescue when her owner was admitted to the hospital. She stayed with us after it was determined that her owner needed long term care and could no longer keep her.

She is about six years old and we recently had her spayed. She weighed a whopping 124 lbs when she came to us, but we’ve gradually brought her weight to a much more healthy 89 lbs.

She is a super sweet girl and adores people, but she has little to no experience around other dogs or cats.

Journey recently started having severe issues with her back end, which became progressively worse. Our staff gave her so much love and care to keep her happy and supported, but when she lost 90% use of her back legs, we made the difficult decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge.

Dr. Tia Perry came to us for Journey’s passing on January 1st. The majority of our kennel team (and even a former employee) came to shower her with love and be with her as she passed. But an amazing thing happened! Upon examination, Dr. Perry felt certain that this was not a disc issue, rather it was FCE (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism), which has a very positive chance for recovery with physical rehab and acupuncture.

Over the next several months our team worked tirelessly on rehabilitation exercises under the guidance of Dr. Perry.

Journey has recovered almost all the use of her back end and is now ready for adoption.

Your financial support and donations have made this possible!

Adoptable dog Journey is such a beautiful and sweet dog! She is fostered by Greensburg Bed and Biscuit.

Over the Rainbow Bridge

bonnie

Bonnie came to us through a domestic violence women’s shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. She had chronic skin issues, was not spayed and had several mass tumors.

After surgeries, spay and extensive treatment through a veterinary dermatologist, she was ready for adoption.

Bonnie was a love bug and absolutely adored people, but she was not suitable for a home with other animals. For this reason, and because of her breed and age, we never found the right home for her.

Bonnie was been with us for more than three years. She was comfortable and relaxed in the kennel and got a lot of love from our team.

In early April, 2025, Bonnie went into heart failure and passed peacefully surrounded by the staff who loved her.

Your donations gave Bonnie a home and the medical care she needed to live out her life with us. Thank you!

adoptable Butchie

Butchie is a 3 year old Basset Hound Mix. He is currently boarded at Greensburg through Paws Crossed Dog Rescue.

Butchie is an altered male who loves his humans. He is very active and loves to play ball. He still has an abundance of puppy energy! He has received extensive training and socialization while at Greensburg.

Butchie likes other dogs, and is respectful of cats, but he has not lived openly in a home with other animals for a long time, so he will need an owner who is open to guidance from our training team to acclimate him well to his new home. He is prone to “over-attachment” to his humans. Our training team will work with potential adopters to make sure his transition goes well.

Butchie is a great dog and deserves a home of his own!

If you’re interested in Butchie, please email PawsCrossedDogRescue@yahoo.com for more information.

Such a handsome boy!

permanent resident DINO

Dino is one of our longest residents and a staff favorite!

Dino came to us in 2019 via a local rescue. Dino had been living with a family for some time when they got a new puppy. They quickly realized that Dino and the new puppy weren’t compatible, and so unfortunately Dino was surrendered.

A local rescue took Dino into their network but they could not house him because his is very intense, very strong, and can scale a 6′ fence with ease!  After one failed attempt at adopting Dino out, it was determined that he is just too difficult of a placement to be able to do so safely.

So Dino is now a permanent resident here at the kennel and will live out the remainder of his days receiving loving care from our staff. One of Dino’s favorite activities is weight-pull, which lets him burn off some energy in a healthy way. In addition to weight-pull, he also loves structured walks and play-time where staff engage with him in a safe and constructive manner.

Dino is a senior pet who is approximately 12 years old with special dietary needs due to his sensitive skin and stomach. On a daily basis, he takes Cosequin for his joints, fish oil for his skin, Fortiflora tablets for his digestive issues, and he eats a limited ingredient food containing salmon and brown rice.  We are committed to helping Dino have a great life no matter how many days he has left with us.

What a sweet face!

permanent resident BUCK

Buck is another dog who lives with us permanently.  He came to us through a local animal shelter many years ago.

Buck is a sweet and lovable guy with an unfortunate, but serious, bite history. He absolutely loves those who he has deemed “his people,” but he is a danger to those he does not know. After significant training, we determined that adopting him out was just not safe or responsible. He is comfortable at the kennel and gets a lot of attention and activity.

We have a very specific approval process to make sure staff are safely acclimated to Buck. This “Buck Approval” can take up to six months, and has multiple stages.

Some of Buck’s favorite activities include playing tug and fetch in the yard and chasing around the Jolly Ball. Due to his bite record, Buck must wear a muzzle anytime he is outside our fences, even when going on nature walks on the property. While he’s not necessarily dog aggressive, he only enjoys the company of a very select few dogs. Former Angel Fund dogs Bonnie and Molly were his neighbors and closest friends at the kennel, but both have passed away.

Buck is an older guy as well, somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 years old. He takes Cosequin for his joints and requires a poultry-free diet due to his chicken allergy. Buck dines on a beef and rice formula and enjoys our allergy-free salmon tuck-in treats.

If you would like to contribute to Buck’s care, please click below to donate to our Angel Fund.

adoptable Chloe

****ADOPTED!****

Chloe is 2 years old and came to us about three months ago. She was a previous client who came to Greensburg after her family had an emergency and had to move out of town. She was originally adopted from the Berkeley County Humane Society along with her kittens.

Chloe is a very sweet and affectionate kitty. She loves human attention and company when she eats. Chloe is full of life and is still very much a playful kitten.

Chloe was spayed in December 2023. She would do best in a home that has plenty of time to give her the attention she craves!

If you would like to meet Chloe, please email GreensburgBedandBiscuit@gmail.com for an application.
